Thank you so much!
It was my hope – and felt like a daring experiment at the same time – that the reader’s imagination would be able to add the colors. I’m happy if this actually happens, at least for you!
I must admit I’ve been similarly afraid of the effect the sloooow intro would have, than I’ve been concerning the gray scale approach.
It took me a while to make the decision to drop almost any text here … but found it fitting for the situation (and the character) in the end.
A fellow vertical scroll comicker! I am most delighted. And like the others have said, your use of grays are perfect. Usually with a fantasy setting, I like seeing the world in full color, but here the lack of colors suit the tone of the story so well. It’s less about ~exploring the exciting world~ than it is about… I can’t quite pinpoint it yet, but I’m starting to get the feel of it (I’ve read everything that’s available so far).
One suggestion: could you make a proper archive page where I can directly access any of the chapters with a single click?
However it is kind of an accident I’m using it here – the comic’s original layout is for print, but at is seems, the pages blend into each other quite well, so it just … happened. Glad you like it.
And even happier you appreciate the grayscale visuals. It took me a while to make that decision, finally (I’m in love with colors, by nature) and was always in doubt whether it would work for the reader as it is working for me (my brain adds all the colors automatically, like it creates all the visuals while I am reading prose 🙂 ).
So far I’m liking everything about this story. The art is wonderful. The pacing is comfortable–not too slow or too jumpy. And great hints of things to come, or that have already come to pass.
Thank you so much! Pacing has been another thing that worried me a bit whenever I tried to place myself into a “unknowing reader’s” perspective, glad to read you seem to be fine with such a calm start.
I’m enjoying how the comic uses gray scale so well I forget that it’s not in color.
Thank you so much!

This is gorgeous work. I love the cinematic story-telling, the gray tones… It’ a very engaging intro.
Thank you!

I refreshed the site after reading Legendary Sisters’ comments on the next chapter. XD The dropdown wasn’t working for me before. Now it is!
Vertical scrolling is great! ^^

Yep. I’m going to be reading this regularly. Oh, yes. Definitely.
